The Meaning Behind Crow Magpie Bridge
The name Crow Magpie Bridge (오작교, 烏鵲橋) comes from the beloved Korean(Asian) legend of The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl (견우직녀) — a story of devotion and unity.
Once upon a time, Gyeonwu (the Cowherd) and Jiknyeo (the Weaver Girl) were blessed by the Heavenly Emperor for their dedication to their craft. But after being united in marriage, they neglected their work and were separated by the Milky Way as punishment.
Their sorrow moved the heavens, and once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, crows and magpies rose to the sky and formed a bridge — the Ojakgyo(烏鵲橋), or Crow Magpie Bridge — allowing the two lovers to meet for one precious day.
This bridge became a symbol of connection, reconciliation, and hope — of bringing together what distance and difference had divided.
At Crow Magpie Bridge, we honor that spirit by connecting businesses across the world — creating bridges of partnership, trust, and shared success between Asia and America.
